Vizcaya Museum and Gardens Wedding | Ariel and Chris

Ariel and Chris's Vizcaya Museum and Gardens wedding felt like a destination wedding in Italy. With a Rosa Clara gown and florals by Ever After, this wedding was bound for gorgeousness. Ariel got ready at the Intercontinental Downtown Miami and as you will see, there was no shortage of bridal beauty on this wedding day. Officiated by Rabbi Michael Raab the ceremony was simply stunning in decor and full of memorable moments. After 'I do', there was dining from Bill Hansen Catering, romantic ambiance with lighting and production by Evoga Events and some really incredible dancing to the rhythms of AA Musicians. Simply a really beautiful day that a little less then a year later would result in Ariel and Chris returning to the Vizcaya for their maternity session. Stay tuned for this bride and groom's transformation to parents to be!

Miami Engagement Photos | Jeanette and Dre

Happy 4th America! Today I am sharing the engagement photos of my long time friend Jeanette. I was over the moon when she asked me to capture her and Dre's engagement session. We started the day at their apartment. The place they share together that is filled with images of their adventures and meaningful treasures. They got to be their authentic in love selves relaxed on the couch with wine. Something they share together as a couple. They changed outfits and we headed to the Espanola Way in South Beach where Dre brought his guitar and even serenaded his bride to be (swoon). As evening came Jeanette and Dre changed one more time into another relaxed outfit and we ended the day with some playfullness at South Pointe Park and the beautiful Pier. It was a perfect day.

The Deering Estate Wedding | Darlene and Raymond

Darlene and Raymond's The Deering Estate wedding was a classic celebration flawlessly planned by Island Life Events, the prettiest florals by Pistils and Petals and lovely paper details by House and Paper. The day started with getting ready at the beautiful Biltmore Coral Gables. Darlene sipped on bubbly, cheered with her best girls while getting hair and makeup by All About You By DC and Deborah Concepcion, before getting into her stunning gown from Ever After. We strolled the immaculate grounds at the Biltmore for some bridal portraits before Darlene was whisked off in a classic car from Majestic Limo. When the time came for the ceremony officiated by Reverend Eddie Rodriguez, Darlene's son escorted her down the aisle where an emotional Raymond waited for his bride. After the love filled ceremony guests dined to catering and cake by Bill Hansen, and danced the night away under string lights to the sounds of Sound Fun Party DJs. Enjoy seeing this heartfelt day.

Engagement Photos in the Everglades | Bianca and Alejandro

When you think Everglades, elegance and refined style don't come to mind. Unless your Bianca and Alejandro! Their engagement session brought out serious style from their outfits, a bouquet, thoughtfully chosen props, and a champagne toast at sunset to cap off the day. These two and their love was simply on fire. You can't make this chemistry up and my lens certainly loved them for it. I love when couples bring their A game, meaning they are just authentically themselves. It's that newly engaged vibe that is just so wonderful to capture. Can't wait till ' i do' with these two!

Ritz Carlton Bal Harbour Wedding | Ila and Alexander

Ila and Alexander's Ritz Carlton Bal Harbour wedding was intimate with an abundance of style. Their venue choice was the perfect backdrop for the romantic florals by Divine Design. Equally as romantic was Ila, who wore a beautiful gown from Mimi's Bridal Ann Arbor. The day began with a relaxed demeanor as bride and groom got ready followed by a sweet first look before the roof top ceremony. A gorgeous reception space waited for guests where they dined under candlelight and greenery. Intimate weddings will forever have a special place in my heart. Thank you Ila and Alexander for choosing me to document such a special celebration!

Romantic Vizcaya Museum and Garden Proposal | Alex and Anna

Is there any better way to start a week, then with a sweet surprise proposal?! Alex and Anna are bringing some extra magic to this Monday with their romantic Vizcaya Museum and Garden Proposal. Back in 2010 I photographed Alex's brother's wedding and was thrilled to hear from him when he told me of his plan to surprise Anna with a proposal that would include friends and family. You can imagine Anna's surprise when they went from spending a quiet day together strolling the beautiful gardens to Alex getting down on one knee followed by their nearest and dearest joining after the proposal. This amazing moment followed with a celebratory portrait session and Anna was clearly shocked and glowing. It was absolute perfection.

The Temple House Miami Wedding | Laura and Shawn

Laura and Shawn's destination wedding at The Temple House in Miami was a dream sleek and modern celebration. I had to opportunity to fly out to NYC to see these two for the first time for their engagement session (be sure to scroll to the very end and catch a glimpse) and it was immediately clear that their wedding would be nothing short of stylish.

1 Hotel South Beach was the perfect location for getting ready, the first look and bridal portraits, where Laura stunned in a Jason Wu gown and had elegant beauty to match by The South Beach Makeup Studio. Shawn was equally as dapper dressed in Michael Andrews Bespoke.

Twenty7 Events from start to finish planned this flawless day where the 'I Do's took place at the rooftop of the The Temple House followed by a reception that just awed guests. The floral design by Ines Naftali with a mix of greenery, succulents and white accent flowers were simply stunning. The reception space was transformed with paper details by Wynwood Letterpress, linens by Nuage Designs, and rentals from AFR and Greathire USA. The night ended with guests dining to catering by Premier Kitchen and dancing the night away to DJ Event Factor and Bay Kings Band. This wedding is what stylish destination wedding dreams are made of.

10 Year Anniversary Session in Biscayne Bay | Kaleigh and Michael

Ten year's never looked so good! Kaleigh and Michael's 10 year anniversary session in Biscayne Bay make the married life look like the best life. Just look at these two. Sunshine, the salty sea air, a beautiful yacht, and you get the perfect setting for celebrating. From Kaleigh's wedding gown to a little dress full of sparkle and shine, this Mrs was on fire! This husband and wife's debonair style was perfection, but their love and chemistry is what really resonated. We ended the afternoon with love, laughter and bubbly. More days like this please. Enjoy all the happy vibes and the beauty of this still very in love duo.

The Bath Club Miami Wedding | Ashley and Nick

Ashley and Nick's Miami Bath Club Wedding was one gorgeous day! A month before I had the pleasure of capturing Nick's brother, Jonathan's wedding, and it was wonderful to be back together with this family again. I have had the privilege of photographing this amazing family since 2011 and there is nothing quite like one of their weddings!

You are about to witness one of the most fun getting ready mornings at the Hilton Cabana in Miami Beach where Ashley and her girls had hair and makeup by Vavavoom Artistry. Ashley was a vision in her elegant gown from Chic Parisien and wait until you see the bouquet and floral design by Petal Production. After getting ready the wedding day began with a ceremony at St.Francis de Sale Catholic Church. A beautiful traditional ceremony full of wonderful moments.

This celebration planned by Yessenia Perez of Event Studio combines lush florals with exquisite wedding details. Guests dined on catering by Celebrity Caterers and were treated to quite the dancing party by DJ Angel Fernandez. Another oh-so-sweet love story in the books!

Miami Family Photography | Samuel Family

I photographed their engagement and wedding in 2012, it was a joy to capture the now Samuel family of four. This foursome is absolute family goals! We had fun together with some sparkle and shine, also the outfit choices were on point. Just look at all the cuteness from this beautiful family. It was a session filled with smiles and lot's of family sweetness. I look forward to many more years of capturing and watching these four grow together!

Trump National Doral Wedding | Greivy and Jonathan

Greivy and Jonathan's Trump National Doral Wedding was classically elegant with a dash of glam. Greivy was a bridal vision in her gown from Chic Parisien paired with cobalt blue wedding shoes by Manolo Blahnik and gorgeous beauty by the team at CMF Artistry. We had the opportunity to walk the grounds of the Trump National Doral for some wonderful bridal portraits before the ceremony at St. Patricks Catholic Church. After the 'i do's' a night of love, laughter and sparkle ensued where no detail was overlooked by the planning from The Event Studio. Beautiful blooms by Petal Productions, a jaw dropping cake by Elegant Temptations, amazing music by The Event Factor, and a fantastic hora loca by Black and White, made this wedding an unforgettable one. Back in 2011 I had the opportunity to photograph Jonathan's sisters Sweet 15 and since then I have been capturing many more of this lovely families milestones. It was such an honor to photograph Jonathan's wedding and continue to be part of this families celebrations.

Little Palm Island Engagement Session | Celia and Mike

Celia and Mike are planning a destination wedding in Greece, but decided to have a Little Palm Island engagement session while visiting this stunning location. Little Palm Island offers the true island feel with lot's of luxuries including some wonderful areas for portraits. These two danced, laughed, and had endless fun. They also shared the moment with their adorable fur baby. With two stylish outfit choices we started the day with the sun shining and ended with the perfect sunset and toes in the sand. Celia and Mike are engagement goals. This love filled day was simply perfection.

Dressing The Part!

I've found that the biggest struggle clients face when planning their portraits is what to wear. You dress yourself every day based on your personal style but the struggle comes when you're deciding how do you want to be portrayed for years to come. The answer is much more simple then people might think, stop overthinking it! Here are a few simple steps to looking your best:

1. Look like you’re all going to the same event.

  • Always make sure that everyone in the photo is dressed like they’re going to the same event, meaning, if one of you is in formal attire, the other one isn’t in a t-shit, shorts, and flip-flops.

2. Dress in the same color tones.

  • There are 3 color tones we want you to dress in:
    • Light tone: For example, sky blue.
    • Mid tone: For example, royal blue.
    • Dark tone: For example, navy blue.

3. Avoid heavy prints and patterns.

  • Keep any patterns or textures to a minimum, as we don’t want the clothing to distract from you.

4. Wear clothing that you love yourself in.

  • If there are parts of your body that you love to show off, make sure your clothes support that. Likewise, if there are parts of your body that you don’t love, make sure the clothing conceals that.

Miami Family Photography | Diaz Family

Since 2011 I have had the pleasure of capturing and watching the Diaz family grow. For this year's annual family portraits we walked the Everglades where we were met with sunshine followed by some clouds that were perfect for portrait shots. Chic, debonair and style comes to mind each time I get to see this beautiful family. Their outfit choices were on point for the setting and every year it is wonderful to see the Diaz's son grow into quite the little gentleman. Family sessions will always be a very special part of In Focus Studio and we are so grateful that we continue to be part of making memories for each of them for year's to come.

Hawks Cay Wedding | Marian and José

One word for Marian and Jose's Hawks Cay wedding, floral dreams! Petal Productions pulled out all the stops from the ceremony to the reception. At every corner this day was dripping with elegant white blooms. The Event Studio crafted a wedding day for Marian and Jose that combined classic with regal details. Speaking of regal, Marian's Christian Louboutin wedding shoes were perfection for her bridal style. Guests were treated to a transformed ballroom by LPS Productions, Imperial Party Rentals and Miami Style Events. Willy Chirino and Eventus Marketing brought out everyone onto the dancing floor and made sure this wedding reception was one to remember. I hope you enjoy this day as much as I enjoyed capturing it all.

Biltmore Wedding | Jessica and Danny

Jessica and Danny's Biltmore wedding was full of all their favorite things and the most important aspect to them was the photography. They wanted to make sure every moment and detail from their shabby chic vintage style celebration was captured. The day began at the Biltmore where the bride and groom got ready and had their beautiful first look followed by strolling the grounds for some wedding portraits before their ceremony at Douglas Entrance. Jessica looked flawless in her Maggie Sottero gown from Brides of Florida and her classic bridal hair style by Lauren Villalobos.

Behind the scenes planners Jorge and Ismael from Events by Alejandrina who also did the catering made sure no detail was over looked. The reception space was transformed with flowers by Ala Flowers where guests danced the night away to DJ Junior and enjoyed an hora loca by Sunflower Entertainment. This amazing wedding day ended with a stunning cake by Events by Alejandrina and an Aroma Espresso Bar perfect to keep the guests on their dancing feet well into the night. I hope you enjoy seeing all the wonderful wedding moments between Jessica and Danny.

Miami Engagement Photos | Kim and Matt

Meet Kim and Matt and their fur baby frenchie Lucy. It is no secret that I am a huge lover of french bull dog's and this cutie was such a sweet addition to this engagement session. Kim and Matt met through mutual friends at a party and the rest is history. Their love grew and on an Easter Sunday Matt hid an engagement ring in a golden egg left for Kim to find during the egg hunt. He got down on one knee and Kim said yes. Such a cute idea for a proposal! For their engagement photos we started out by going for a casual stroll and stopping for some wine with a picnic. The day ended with a stylish outfit change and some portraits down by the marina. It was a wonderful love filled afternoon.

NYC Senior Portraits | Francesca

With plans to attend college in the city, Francesca's NYC senior portraits incorporated all her favorite iconic locations. With her love for One Direction, Gossip Girls actress Leighton Meester, and taking selfies, plus her love for fashion, we had a packed day to show all her favorite things.

We started with some shopping in Soho, followed by some glam portraits in Central Park and then a rooftop in Hell's Kitchen. We ended with some fashion forward portraits at night in Time Square. Francesca is one of five children, I have had the pleasure of capturing all the kids over the year's and several milestones. I always feel so blessed that I get to capture life's most important moments for a family.

Miami Children's Photography | Greyson 6 Months

Bringing you some Monday sweetness with baby Greyson's six month photo shoot. What a difference a year makes! I captured Greyson's mom Rosie when she was pregnant and then a newborn shoot once baby Greyson arrived followed by his baptism and now this wonderful six month milestone. Six month's is one of the best ages. This little man was curious, sitting up on his own and as you will see from those darling expressions wondering what exactly I was doing. So many sweet memories with this family and lot's more to come!

The Rusty Pelican Wedding | Myrel and Alfred

Last week I shared Myrel and Alfred's engagement photos and today I am sharing their classically elegant wedding at the Rusty Pelican. This wonderful wedding day began at the Mandarin Oriental where Myrel had hair and makeup by Deborah Concepcion and the time had finally come for her to put on her Allure gown from Brides of Florida. Her something blue, a stunning pair of Badgley Mischka wedding shoes. First some bubbly and then the sweetest first look for the bride and her groom before the 'I Do's' and their beautiful reception. Event planners Alexis Morante and Anamaria Martinez flawlessly planned a day full of beauty along with gorgeous florals by Alexis Morante, catering from the Rusty Pelican, paper design by Timeless Impressions Invitations, and an all white wedding cake by Todo Dulces. DJ Ubis kept everyone on their dancing feet and this memorable day came to an end with a wedding these now newlyweds had always dreamed of having.
